Here is a series of vocabulary lists and activities of use in teaching Design Technology.

Lists

Hugh O'Connell's book Keywords in Specialist Subjects contains a KS1 and KS2 Design Technology vocabulary list.

One of the Key Stage 3 Spelling Lists in the DfES Framework for teaching English Appendix 2 is Design Technology-specific.

One of the Key Stage 3 Word Lists in Harton School's Student Planner is Design Technology-specific.

Trafford's Learning Support Service has published a Key Stage 3 Word List for D&T.

E. G. Stirling's more KS4-5 oriented Subject Spellchecks: Spelling for Exams contains a Design Technology word list.

Teachers, students and parents can create Design Technology wordsearches and crosswords using a word list and the puzzle generation tool Puzzlemaker.

Starspell 2001, published by Fisher Marriott Software, is a computer program designed to assist the learning of spelling. It uses the Look-Say-Cover-Write-Check approach. It has a progressive approach to English spelling. One of the Word Lists in the package is Design Technology-specific. Every word is spoken and has an accompanying sentence. Adding lists is easy.
