The BBC website is supposed to be the most visited information-based website in Europe. BBC Education has a section called GCSE Bitesize Revision, which is intended for learners working on their own.
Return to the
ICT Page. Click on the Bitesize Revision link. Then click on the Information Technology link. Look at the topics. Are they relevant? Try one and assess the quality of subsequent pages for age-appropriateness and curriculum focus.
ICT page. ICTeachers has a number of resources, including schemes of work, for ICT as a cross-curricular dimension and as a subject in its own right. Assess its usefulness. Read the Review of ICT Teachers and consider whether you agree with its evaluation of the website (dead link).
ICT page. Support and Access for Teachers and Learners is a portal with links of interest to teachers and learners of ICT, arranged according to key stage. How effective is this format? Can you think of any other links that might have been included?
ICT page and click on the Google link. Use "Information Technology" as your keywords, in quotes. How many hits were there? Print out the first page of hits. Now try information technology. Any change in the type and quantity of hits?
