Here is a series of vocabulary lists and activities of use in teaching Physical Education.

Lists

Hugh O'Connell's book Keywords in Specialist Subjects contains a KS1 and KS2 Physical Education vocabulary list.

One of the Key Stage 3 Spelling Lists in the DfES Framework for teaching English Appendix 2 is Physical Education-specific.

One of the Key Stage 3 Word Lists in Harton School's Student Planner is Physical Education-specific.

Trafford's Learning Support Service has published a Key Stage 3 Word List for PE.

Sports - Vocabulary Word Groups: A vocabulary list originally designed for learners of English as a second language. Words are divided into categories which all relate to the theme of "sports".

Starspell 2001, published by Fisher Marriott Software, is a computer program designed to assist the learning of spelling. It uses the Look-Say-Cover-Write-Check approach. It has a progressive approach to English spelling. One of the Word Lists in the package is Physical Education-specific. Every word is spoken and has an accompanying sentence. Adding lists is easy.
